January 4th To kick off the New Year, PVARC Vice President Ray Day, N6HE, lined up a very interesting presenter for our January 4, 2018, monthly meeting at Hesse Park. Orv Beach, W6BI from Simi Valley, will be speaking about MESH networking--- especially the Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network (AREDN) project that's attempting to site MESH nodes using WiFi routers from the Mexican border north to the Bay Area and east into Arizona and Nevada. If you missed the AREDN talk at HAMCON 2017 you'll want to hear this presentation on January 4. The high-speed AREDN network will be able to carry full-motion video and enormous amounts of data, in addition to voice or digital modes.
